We receive numerous requests to have the truck
appear at shows and events. While we would love
to attend most of the events, we cannot. We
sincerely appreciate all of the Convoy fans, but at
the end of the day, this truck is owned by a family
that has bills and expenses like everyone else.
The truck is typically on display April through
October at the Museum of Transportation in west
St. Louis County at 3015 Barrett Station Road.
Their St. Louis County Park Rangers, staff security
and a surveilance system allow the truck to be
safely viewed without us having to be in constant
attendance. There is an entry fee at the Museum,
but it is VERY well worth it.
We do not attend for-profit or promotional shows
without a full sponsorship. We have poured
unimaginable money, blood and sweat into this
truck and will not allow others to reap the benefits
of our hard work and investment.
We are often asked about Walcott. Although we do
enjoy Walcott and the Jamboree, we absolutely will
not bring the truck to shows or events where the
duck hood ornament is sold. Unfortunately, the
Iowa 80 chain and the Moon family choose to do
business with the manufacturer of the hood
ornament. The last thing in the world that we are
going to do is further the sales of that item.
We do make every effort to attend the American
Truck Historical Society's annual convention show
every year. The ATHS is an excellent non-profit
group and we love being a part of such an
excellent group of people. The ATHS show in
Pleasanton, CA is going to be too far for us to
bring the truck this year, but we will be in Notre
Dame, IN next year for the 2011 ATHS National
Convention. Also, we make every effort to
participate in the Special Olympics World's Largest
Truck Convoy each year.
We do not offer free private showings and rides
with the truck. The truck can be rented for events
and an Appearance Fee quote is available upon
request. Appearance fees directly compensate us
for our time, lost wages, personal expenses and
risk.
