As the convoy of trucks grew, a rather bizarre and non-sequitur scene was in the story line that featured Pig Pen and a young female hitchhiker. While in the convoy, a young female voice is heard over the CB calling out to the truckers for a ride, providing her location so that she can be picked up. A group of trucks begin to race to her, bumping and crashing along the way (a la NASCAR style) to get there first. Pig Pen is the first to arrive and the young hitch climbs into his truck. Thinking he has scored a female companion, he proceeds to boast about his truck. Instead of being impressed, the young lady proceeds to extort money from Pig Pen, threatening that if he doesn't fork over the cash, she will get on the CB and yell "rape". Being underage (highly inappropriate subject matter), this is especially troublesome for Pig Pen. As a result, he abruptly stops the truck, gives her the money and orders her out. Thankfully, the scene was cut from the movie. Below are pictures of Pig Pen pulling off the road to drop the hitch off and a picture of her throwing her backpack out of the truck. |
