The Surviving Duel Truck
Operation Jee-Yum is an effort to return the Duel truck and trailer to its exact
1971 film-ready condition.  Due to a number of reasons, the truck incurred
slight modifications and changes over the years.  Working on everything
from the swamp cooler to correct wheel assortments to the pink bondo on
the fenders, I want the truck to be returned to all of its glory.

Additionally, I am taking steps to make certain behind the scenes
modifications to the truck to help ensure it is roadworthy for long distance
trips.  The pics of the tractor were taken July and August 2009.  Don't worry,
we still have the trailer.  It's just easier to maneuver the tractor by itself while
we work on it.

So how are we progressing?

We are nearly complete with our work on the Duel truck.  Our work to date
includes:
Complete rebuild of the Cummins NTC350 Small Cam, including pistons,
rings, liners, heads, injectors, fuel pump, turbo and starter.

New clutch

New 10.00x22 tube type steer tires on 5 hand hole disk wheels

All new air lines

Replacement of the old obsolete Page and Page suspension with a newer
Reyco four spring suspension (strictly to allow for parts and servicing)

Extended wheelbase to more closely match the wheelbase of Truck 1

Relocated air tanks, including placement of the passenger air tank just
forward of the rear suspension on the outside of the frame rail

Installation of a toolbox on the outside right frame just behind the cab

Installation of a battery/storage stepbox below the passenger side cab

Installation of a fuel tank behind the cab on the driver's side frame

Removal of the pogo stick and relocation of the air and electric lines for the
trailer to the end of the frame.

Pink weathered "Bondo" fenders

We are still working on the all new electrical lines.
